Your Day-to-Day Tasks will be:

Operates and maintains special production equipment including computer numerically controlled (CNC) lathe machines. Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and part specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequence of operations and setup requirements. Starts and observes operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machines controls as required. Performs various combinations of lathe operations such as; turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, contouring, etc. on metal forgings.

Program and set-up CNC lathe machines and other production equipment.
Determine the sequence of operations, methods of setup and layout.
Use measuring gauges to perform product quality checks.
Inspect parts against blueprints and specifications; ensuring product meets specified quality standards.
Reduce run times and increase tool life.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems leading to continual process improvements.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
Observe all safety pactices and procedures.
Perform preventative maintenance and keep machines lubricated.
Other duties as assigned.
